Let’s talk about three home-buying myths and why they just aren’t true.

Today we’re going to bust three home-buying myths:

Myth No. 1: The first step is to start searching, right? Although browsing is fun, you want to get your credit in great shape beforehand. You should also get pre-approved for a mortgage so that we know what your budget is.

Myth No. 2: You can’t buy with a less-than-great credit score. While you may not be eligible for a conventional loan, there are plenty of other options. An FHA loan, for example, only requires 3% down, and applicants with credit scores under 600 can still qualify.

Myth No. 3: I’m just going to call the number on the sign; I don’t need an agent. While you don’t need a Realtor, you should really let the pros help. The number on the sign is typically for the listing agent, and they have the seller’s best interests in mind. When you call us to represent you as your buyer’s agent, you’ll get great negotiation skills, fantastic communication, help with your search for a new home, and more.

If you have any questions or other myths you’d like us to bust, call, text, or leave a comment. We’d love to hear from you.
